… I went through an 8 month treatment (for acne) and couldn't be happier with my results! I haven't had a blemish in over 6 months. My life is so much easier now that I am not always worrying about breakouts. If I had know going to the dermatologist would give me these results, I would have gone so much sooner!”

1Dermatopathologists are physicians who are board certified in dermatology with advanced training and certification in the diagnosis of skin pathology. The accurate interpretation of skin problems is extremely important in the selection of the correct treatment for the health of your skin. Dr. Fortson is the only board-certified dermatopathologist in Anchorage.

Now that the weather is cold, you may be using your hot tub more often. Hot tubs have many enjoyable benefits, but they can also dry out your skin. This is due to the combination of hot water plus the high concentration of chemicals.

You can --- and should --- enjoy your hot tub! Here’s how to keep your skin healthy:

  • Immediately after leaving the hot tub, rinse off with clear water.
  • Skip the soap and body wash.
  • Lightly dry your skin with a soft towel.
  • Moisturize all over within 3 minutes of leaving the shower with a good quality moisturizer. Stop by the Center and take a look at the many options available.
Enjoy your hot tub this winter while taking care of your skin at the same time.
