A Common Skin Condition
Rosacea (sometimes called acne rosacea) is characterized by easy flushing and facial redness. Ocular rosacea is an inflammation that affects the eyes, causing redness, burning and itching.
There are many triggers for rosacea. In the United States, a primary factor is exposure to ultraviolet light. Additional causes include spicy foods, temperature extremes, alcohol consumption and others which are less common. Rosacea can be treated with creams, oral medication and lasers, the latter which removes the background facial redness of rosacea.
Remember: use your sunscreen every 2 hours, even in the rain.
